If you get the above message when opening iPhoto, here is the fix:

  1. Download BatChmod
  2. Run the program and set it just like you see it in the picture below. Done.

How to Diagnose Slow Airport Extreme Wireless Issues

The above link is a good read about how to solve problems with a slow wireless network. It uses the AEBS as the example but this will work on most wireless routers.  It addresses wireless signals, noise and interference in general so its not a hardware specific fix.
